Bulking up.....Not! My knee

My knee post op two weeks

Strengthening my quads

Knee flexion sets

Knee walks

With being post op a little over 2 weeks, I think I am doing okay.

I have my daily knee exercises that I have to do. Lots of strengthening exercises.

I should have a nice bulky muscular thigh when I am finished PT. Not! A girl can dream can't she?

Starting my day today by having a PT appointment in the middle of the morning.

Let's see how do since it has been a week since my last PT appointment.

Pre op Morning.....

Before we left for surgery ( 5:00AM ) on May 16. My hubby's idea. You have to some humor in all of this.
Me at home later on May 16. I love love the polar care unit. It is the spent investment from 2 1/2 years ago.
The pre-op surgery nurses and my surgeon got a hoot out of it. Ha! Ha!

Crazy bird birthday card

I got this RAK image from Sharon S. of TH crazy bird stamps. Our pastor's birthday ( Saturday ) was coming up and this was perfect.

I made the card earlier last week.

For the sentiment, I created it on the computer, cut the words out and outlined them with Zigwriter pen.

I love the way Lyra aquacrayons blend. I was introduced to them when I was a consultant for The Angel Company ( Company no longer in business ).

Enjoy!

Our hay bale garden update

We are so tickled that our garden is thriving this year. Last year's attempt to grow from seeds was a disaster. After some mishaps involving our cats, we had to start over with seeds. None of our tomatoes or herbs made it.

This year we decided to start with plantlings AND do hay bale gardening.

We used only 4 hay bales. Since we KNOW ( Pinterest success idea ) it works, we will spread out of garden next year.

Wow!!! Our garden is thriving. We have lots of tomato varieties, chile peppers, jalepenoes, green peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, English cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, regular cucumbers, oregano, lavender, catnip, broccoli and cauliflower.

The tomatoes were the last to start growing fruit.

We water them every day and "feed" them every other day.

We will be collecting yellow squash and zucchini by the end of the week.

Yum!!

We are going to freeze and/or can our veggies, too.

Thunderstorms this past week

I love driving past this farm field near our house. The lone oak tree sits next to a small family cemetery in the country side. Reminds of how the farms might be out West. I have taken many many photos of this tree at various times of the year.

I was rushing home to beat the thunderstorm that arriving fast. ( as you can tell )

BUT

I couldn't resist stopping to take photos of this skyscape. Nature was "begging" me to take some photos of this tree.

No photoshop or tweaking with filters of these photos. It was that awesome of colors. Now do you see why I stop and take photos on a whim? Some of my best photos are taken like this.

Spring brings.......Canning time!

One of the things that I like about spring. Time to start canning.

This is something that my husband, son and I like to do together as a family.

We canned 24 pints of strawberry jam a month ago.

Now, it was time to try to do Apple Jelly.

Over two days last weekend, we canned 22 pints of apple jelly.

My husband gets all of the credit to designing the apple jelly label.
